Burned 3 batches of chicken wings last month before I figured out the trick
Last month I was so frustrated I almost threw my air fryer out the window. I kept dumping frozen wings in at 400 degrees for 25 minutes like every recipe says, but they came out black on the outside and raw inside. Three pounds of wings wasted, about 15 bucks down the drain. My buddy Mike from work told me to pat them dry with paper towels first and shake them halfway through. Tried that last Tuesday and they came out perfect, crispy skin and cooked through. Now I'm wondering if most air fryer recipes online are just written by people who never actually tested them. Has anyone else had to tweak cooking times way down from what recipes say?

Honestly, 400 for 25 minutes is way too hot for frozen wings straight from the bag. Most online recipes are definitely written for thawed chicken or someone with a different air fryer model. If you pat them dry like Mike said and drop the temp to 375, you can usually do 22 minutes shaking at 11 and they'll come out way better.
