The AI voice changer demo at my brother's shop went from prank to scary in about 8 weeks
My brother runs a small call center in Reno with 9 reps. Back in March we messed around with a free AI voice tool and it sounded like a robot with a head cold. Last week he showed me the same tool cloning a customer's voice from a 6 second clip, and I honestly couldn't tell it was fake. He said two clients already asked if they can use it to skip hold music. That's a 2 month jump from toy to something that can fool your own mom on the phone. How are you all checking if a voice on a call is actually a person?
