Rewrote a whole chatbot script in 2019, and last month the same bot answered a customer without me touching it
Back when I first started messing with language models, every reply needed hand-holding and broke if a user typed a typo, but a few weeks ago in my little apartment in Columbus I watched a newer model handle a rambling three-paragraph complaint about a late order and still ask the right follow-up question, which honestly felt like watching a kid finally ride a bike without training wheels, so I'm curious what moment made the rest of you realize these tools had actually grown up.
