Serious question, did anyone else's sketchbook habit die the day they found Midjourney?
I used to fill a 9x12 Canson sketchbook every 5 weeks, pencils and microns, and now I open Procreate maybe twice a month. It started around March when I paid $10 for a Midjourney sub and got 20 decent dragon concepts in one evening, work that used to take me a full weekend at my desk in Cleveland. The scary part is I stopped noticing the trade, my line work got shaky because I was just typing prompts instead of drawing hands. I'm not saying the AI pics aren't cool, some of them fooled my old art school buddy at a glance. But when I print one out and pin it next to my old ink stuff, something feels missing and I can't name it. How do you all keep actual pen time in the mix without falling back into the prompt hole?
