Heard a curator say AI art has no 'intent' behind it

I was at a gallery talk in Austin last week and the speaker said AI images lack intentionality. But I spent 4 hours tweaking prompts to get a specific mood right. Doesn't that count as intent? What do you all think?

The photographer comparison actually undersells it a bit - a photographer can see what they're getting in real time, while this guy was basically working blind and adjusting based on how the AI interpreted his words. That's a whole different level of guesswork and patience.
