Flashlight beam in an old asylum showed me things I missed twice before

Went back to a sanatorium outside Buffalo with a cheap UV light last weekend and found faded patient initials carved into a windowsill that I'd walked past on two other trips. Anyone else notice how different lighting changes what you see in these places, or do I just need better eyes?

Didn’t use to think lighting mattered much. But then I hit an old factory with a strong headlamp and saw tool marks in a concrete floor that were invisible with regular flashlights. The angle and the color of the light cast shadows that made the depth pop out. Now I always pack a UV light and a warm bulb, because the same spot can tell a totally different story.
