My grandpa's 1954 Sears catalog listed a full bedroom set for $89.50, and I need everyone to sit with that number
I was going through a box of my grandpa's stuff from the attic in Scranton last weekend and found a 1954 Sears catalog with a five-piece bedroom set (bed, dresser, mirror, nightstand, chest) going for $89.50. That same money today buys you maybe a particle board nightstand that falls apart in a year, which honestly made me madder than I expected. Has anyone else dug up old catalogs like this, and what price gap hit you the hardest?
