This is the quote attributed to Isaac Newton referring to the contributions Galileo (and others). It could just as well refer to people like Wally who kept the clear idea of worker democracy alive through the long reaction years.

Sorry it's taken me so long to come up with something to say about Walter, I had a death in my own family around the same time as Walter's. This thought about Walter suddenly came to me in reading today's obituary pages on the death of the astronomer Frank J. Low.
