Even under eminent domain, the owners of the "condemned" property are paid fair market value for the "taken" property.... at the value before the taking.
I propose taking it from the greedy bastards without compensation is wrong... irrespective of how they assembled their wealth.... after all, it was legal under the "former" system.
If your plan of social ownership is to be accepted by the public... we have to figure out a way in which the former owners can be compensated for their tools.....
however devalued the tools of production are.
We can determine the the basis for their exisitng value (used for tax purposes) and then deduct for socially necessary improvements for efficiency, safety, the environment, etc.
Pay them off, and send them on their way....
