GENUINE DEMOCRACY NEEDED FOR WE, THE PEOPLE…
We cannot escape the social contradictions which are inherent in the system of capitalism. Our society is always threatened by its potential and historic inevitable failures. Time for the “free market” cheerleaders to begin considering the quality of our society as a whole rather than just their own immediate well being… , because this system spares no one…, even the members of our ruling capitalist class…, whose investment fortunes are always threatened,.
You ask: “What social contradictions?”
Take the wages system. Workers are paid a buck for every four or five bucks they produce in values, which means we can buy back only a fraction of what we make for sale in the competitive market. , which accounts for the huge imbalance between personal savings and the debt ratios…savings being the lowest compared to debt in bank history.
The Credit card business iis “better” for the lenders than ever, yet, we know, most people are not living “high on the hog.” In fact, millions of people are barely making it…, and many millions are joining the already impoverished…, poverty being a regular condition under this system.
An economic democracy would return to all who contribute to a socially needed industry or service the “full” values of all our labor produces… Today’s money system hides all sorts of unequal market exchange relationships . “Found” or “robbed” money counts the same in the market regardless of its origins…Fact is, “Found” money means the “finder” benefits from another’s labor time spent earning the “lost” money The “Finder’s Keepers” axiom is a form of accepted criminality.
An equitable system for exchanging our labor contributions to a needed industry or service can be implemented so that our “labor” exchanges equally for any goods or services which required a comparable time for its creation…No middle man profit takings. All production to the actual producers.
It’s that simple, fair and just. No exploitation of our production by “capital” investment.
A post WW2 Ford Co. declaration stated its superior production facilities can produce a car from the initial planning of the vehicle configurations…, to mining of necessary resources to the finished fabrication…, using just 50 man unit hours of labor! Were we to use a value exchange system as is prescribed in an economic democracy, our 50 labor hour contributions in any socially needed industry would be exchangeable for an automobile whose labor time hours required the 50 man unit hours Ford announced over 60 years ago.
Imagine how the new, advanced technology can improve upon that?
In our economic democracy, We, the People, would have a direct voice and vote in ALL matters that affect our lives…, in both our civic affairs and in our work places. That’s not the only advantage an economic democracy has over this rapacious system of capitalism.
The Constitution provides for a legal and peaceful transformation of this corporate autocracy and its complicit political dictatorship to a genuine democracy would enhance our individual freedoms far beyond our present imaginations.
DEMOCRACY is worthy of our serious, thoughtful, consideration…For ourselves and our future generations, we can do no less.
