I thought I ought to introduce myself.
I am a 75-year-old philosopher, artist, activist, teacher (in that life
order).
My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this year,
and have 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Bob and I have voted mostly Democratic over the years, though in the
past few elections, I voted the party in spite of grave misgivings.
I even worked as a poll worker (years ago), and more recently twice for
Dennis Kucinich' bid for President.
I will no longer remain a Democrat.
I have read the documents on this web site that the editors have
presented. I do agree with most.
My concern is this: I think it is essential that each citizen must change
his/her way of living. That does not prevent us from organizing. I'm
sure most of you would agree that our world is divided into various
"us" and "them" groups.
I would recommend to you a book by Thich Nhat Hanh, *The World We
Have: A Buddhist Approach to Peace and Ecology." Buddhism is NOT a
religion, but simply a way of life/a way of respecting our world.
