This is a Call to reinvent DEMOCRACY into our nation’s socially necessary institutions…, namely, the privately owned and controlled economy of capitalism, and the publicly ordained, popularly elected political government which no longer serves the needs of the ordinary citizenry of our United States of America.
We CAN reinvent democracy in American institutions…, and we, in our local communities, can begin to make it happen.
Imagine a society in which We, the People, in our places of work,,,, where all the goods and services are produced by millions of Americans, one day coming into work and there are no bosses. We, the people ARE our own bosses. How? We organize our workplaces along democracy lines. We elect people from our own departments to organize how best to operate our needed and wanted goods and services. Our elected councils will be are production coordinators.., NOT bureaucrats. The elected coordinators will have no hire/fire powers which immediately removes any bureaucracy tendencies, and we can legislate into law the process of instant replacement by those who had elected them into office. No long term impeachment processes which today prevent us from dealing with our Representatives who ignore the promises upon which they have been elected to fulfill.
We, in our local communities, are connected to all parts of the country by the fact that we all live under the same rules which keeps our society organized so that we can hope to do our daily work in peace, and hopefully with prosperity. What we endure and put up with in terms of a clear lack of “self” government, and an economic system gone haywire, is being experienced throughout our entire society. Obviously, we have neither prosperity nor peace.
The “Free Market” system has failed our majority electorate. This political form of government has failed us as well. Our choices are clear. Either We change systems, legally and peacefully, as the U.S. Constitution provides and conditions mandate, or we continue to endure our present conditions, hope for the best, and give our democratic empowerment over to the politicians who will work to keep this system going, like it is…Is that what we want?
We are not alone in our concerns for our individual and societal well being. What we do in our local communities to address our country’s problems will have state and national impact.
At this point in our American history, it is obvious we are not living in a society of peace and prosperity. Far from it. No argument that we are living in a society of insecurity brought upon us by many years of an unpredictable “Free Market” and an often devastating economy… which has produced periodic wars which have torn our families apart…, and from all that we have already experienced…, the ways our political government, and the major privately owned corporations are controlling our lives…, there does not appear to be any hope that the future will be better for either ourselves or our kids and theirs.
What can WE do to make good things happen?
We can meet with like minded folks, look into organizing discussion groups ..., leaarning how to set up a local political party which will have state and national access to the ballot. That's a KEY to our going from knowing what's wrong to doing something about it in an effective, positive way.
There are unknown numbers of people who will gravitate to a new direction for ssocial change who, presently, have no where to go because they hear nothing different from that of the media-spawned conventional propaganda about this being the best and only system for We, the People.
