Democracy and Freedom of speech is feared by all dictators and bureaucratic entities. Denial of democracy in our necessary public institutions is a real problem only We, the People, can resolve.
An obstacle we have in making our society one of peace and prosperity is the reality that we are literally denied responsible "Freedom of Speech" in a most important area of our lives... , in our major communication media. This is denied to us because privately owned corporations control our publicly-owned airwaves which, when licensed by the government to a private business, such as NBC or CNN, etc. gives the private owners exclusive rights to censor ideas and voices not in their interests, despite the fact that the FCC Act Section 315 requires a tv or radio station to give free and equal time to all legitimate political candidates during election time periods.
An extension of corporate media exclusions of ideas beyond election time periods, ideas that are not in agreement with corporate profit interests explains why we never hear on TV or radio any talk about how this privately governed, socially operated economic system, capitalism, is undemocratic..., how it forces people into unemployment..., how it compels the government to invade other lands for corporate resources (Iraq), which results in produces poverty, racism and wars..., and equally important, why we never hear how this system can be transformed, legally and peacefully, to one where We, the People, have democratic control and decision making empowerment to use our needed industries to benefit all of society in order that we can maintain a peaceful and prosperous nation....
Yes, the private, multi millionaire, politically powerful corporate owners, a social class unto themselves, quite apart for our majority working class citizenry, do fear "freedom of speech," because this "freedom" is vital for citizens, We, the People, to share ideas, and necessarily organize to vote in a new system in which we have a direct voice and vote in all matters that affect out lives.
The only way we can achieve the ECONOMIC democracy that will liberate us from this oppressive and autocratic system in which We, the People, have no real, effective decision making powers either in the communities where we live, or in our work places, is to begin the process of legal and peaceful change. And it's simple!
Tell others about this "site." Discuss with your friends and neighbors that there is a way to activate our ideas for positive change..., by getting together in our homes, our communities.., and bring this "movement" for peace and prosperity into the thinking and discussion of people like ourselves..., and get together, and bring like minded people into the political process by holding up a real, electable platform for sensible changes (Who can not want a peaceful and prosperous society?) in the ways we can govern ourselves in our own best interests, and for the betterment of our kids and theirs.
Democracy is the medicine that can cure our society of most, if not all, our perennial social, and economic problems. We can't have one without the other.
