Heard recently that teacher moral in Timberlane is pretty low. I guess the teachers really do deserve a raise because of the S**T they have to put up with from La Salle's SAU. The main cause is this "my way or the highway" attitude from one of the curriculum coordinator. Not sure how this particular coordinator came up through the ranks so fast or why this particular coordinator has been given near dictatorial powers. Must be La Salle's pet. "My way or the highway", indeed. Someone's been watching too many "Roadhouse" reruns. Maybe there's an Assistant Superintendent slot coming up soon and this one's preening for it early. Anyway, I hear the kids are now being treated like mere widgets in a factory cell and their report cards are just more Kanban. Is this the SAU's plan to bring "quality" back to education, emulate industry? Our kids are not widgets and Timberlane isn't a factory. Let's give the teachers the freedom to teach, not bury them in endless paperwork. I say, get rid of the Curriculum Coordinators. La Salle should be coordinating the curriculum. Instead, he's micro-managing the school budget.
We all know what's going to happen though. Heaven forbid they lay off Psychologists, Curriculum Coordinators and all their new comrades. Instead, they'll lay off the janitorial staff so the buildings will degrade faster and they can demand shiny new schools.
I don't follow Bealo's Blog. If this has been discussed, then I'm sorry. I'll try to catch up.
