Why are you folks in NH backing Unitil? They're a bunch of reprobates!
I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in a few of Unitil's conference rooms during the last 7 months. Can you imagine all the angry voices and finger pointing. "It's your fault, Gantz!" "No, you screwed up, Meissner." "You're both wrong, this is all Bob Schoenburger's fault." And I'd love to have had a phone tap on CEO Schoenbergers line too. "Hi Bob, this is Steve Holliday from National Grid." "What the HELL are you guys doing over there across the pond?" "You're giving our whole industry a bad name!" "Click". "Hi Bob, this is Tom May from NSTAR." "Boy do I have a deal for you." "You give us $1.00 and we'll put you out of your misery." "We'll take over your entire operation."
There's way too much inbreeding at Unitil's top level and they have far too many Brunhildas in Customer Service. I think there is only one woman on their Board of Directors and no blacks or hispanics. And I'll betcha none of them knows what a cartom of milk or a dozen eggs costs these days. That's how far out of touch these people are.
I ran into something interesting in the Fitchburg Sentinel and Enterprise this week. Two comments to a letter to the editor appear below. Pretty eye opening? I remember when I attended the MASS DPU hearing in Fitchburg. Or maybe it was the one in Lunenburg. I'll check and post the transcr1pts. One woman got up and complained. It seems she asked Unitil employees not to enter her house to read the meter while no one was home. She also complained directly to Unitil and to the MASS DPU about it. She claims she was ignored. Several weeks later two Unitil employees came to read the meter and she claims they attempted to sexually assault her. Guess you can't let 'em in the door when you're home either.
My mother claims the Unitil Customer Support woman yelled at her over the phone. "Are you still there?" Get out lady! Get out of the house! Like the place was going to blow up or something.

Yesterday I am very angry about Unitil. I think they should be kicked out. Three years ago they were going to shut my electricity off even though my 9 year old son was on a machine for his asthma and they told me to take him to the hospital. I ask you, isn't that the same company that swears they care about it's customers ? I think not! They kick you when you're down, they charge more to make it so some people can't pay the bill. Especially the poor.

Yesterday I know of an incident with a neighbor that is slightly challenged. She neglected to call and set up a payment arrangement. The Unitil worker came to shut her off, she phoned me to borrow money. I ran over to see if I could give the man money to keep it on, it was below freezing. He said he could not accept payment, shut her off and was on his way. She used my phone to call Unitil and let them know she had a two year old has asthma and was suffering with pneumonia and they can't shut her off. The young women on the phone said they can shut her off any time. I did tell her to seek medical documentation next time and they CAN NOT discontinue her service. We did make it to a payment center, phoned them with the information and asked that they come soon. Thank God she could come to my home. She was told, they shut off in the morning and don't make the round to turn service back on until after 4:00pm. The mannerism of these people they employ needs much improvement.
