Letter to the Editor of Foster's Daily Democrat.
Protect your rights
Hypothetical Situation? One of your children is ill. You bring her to several doctors. They tell you she is very ill and may actually die unless a certain treatment is given. You fundamentally disagree with the treatment. Maybe even for religious reasons. You decide to seek alternate treatments. As is your you right. Right?
Wrong! A mother tried to do just this, but the powers that be decided that "they" know what's best for the mother's child. They *order* the child to receive chemotherapy. The mother flees with the child. The court orders a warrant for the mother's arrest (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090520/ap_on_re_us/us_forced_chemo).
Do we live in America? Do we have any rights left? Most people think that the government gives you rights. Wrong. We are born with unalienable rights. What we have to understand is that government can only "TAKE AWAY" your rights.
Every law, statute, regulation, policy that is forced down on us erodes our rights. The Constitution for the United States was written to protect "us"from the federal government. Now look at the mess we're in. "We the people" need to take a stand and stop the madness.
