It is nice to see and hear the rate is going down on the assessments of properties but where is the true fairness? The rates for commercial and industrial property has to be adjusted - ,fairly , -at a higher rate to offset the expense of having them here in Plaistow . All properties should be assessed at the rates of what the property is or has been declared up to now whether residential ,commercial, and industrial . At that time you'll see the people who own residential property declared other wise scurring around to sell their property. Why should you or I have to pay the rate we do and they who have property that they live or rent in/on have a different status . In short they can pay the rate difference if they want to keep the declared status of their property or pay the residential rate like most others who are carrying the burden. Its time for the Master Plan to be up dated and the clearing up of the assessing of properties every where in the town and not just along routes 121,121a,and 125. I know I'm not making a lot of friends here but that is my opinion . Its from these many past years with the towns lack of keeping up with changes needed with these times. That is some of the reasons why we are stuck with the whole of the Testa situation.
