Well the "Plaistow Times" website folded. And heaven forbid, you post on my site.
I'm the town "Meanie". So what's an opinionated Plaistow resident to do? Well just
surf over to the Eagle Tribune Online at www.eagletribune.com. Click News on the
their taskbar then click New Hampshire. Nearly all of the articles have little
orange squares after them. This means readers comments are welcome. If you bring
up an article that interests you, you'll notice an orange bubble on the top right
with a number in it. The number is how many comments have already been posted.
There is a block of space at the bottom of the article where you can add your comment
This is just a small sampling:

"When this comes up for the public hearing again, most of the town will be there to oppose Fabcon. Three cheers to those who spoke up. It was sad to see that the residents had to educate the planning board on the properties of concrete production, the toxicity of cement as it becomes airborn, water consumption and ramifications including the degradation of the quality of life here in town. This is why Testa brought their lawyers in for the first and final approval."

"It seems the residents of Plaistow should write an ordinance that protects their rights similar to the ones in Atkinson, Barnstead and Nottingham. Until residents begin to take back control of their rights then Corporations will continue to rule We the People.
Keep the fight and don't go down the "regulatory shoot" that is built to expend your energy, money and resources. Get writing an ordinance and educate the rest of the town who cares about their future."
(Have you noticed how easy it is to get a Citizens Petition or an Ordinance going over in Atkinson? I swear their public library must have a computer, printer and software system set up specifically to generate them. Now that's a resident friendly library. -the crier)
And what a controversy Richard Colcord stirred up after suggesting that the Old Home Day Fireworks be cancelled this year in favor of fuel assistence for the needy this winter.

"How Ridiculous Plaistow is throwing away $2200.00 because of one letter from one idiot."
(And they call me the town "Meanie". -the Crier)

"Congrats on Colcard's suggestion. We don't need another fireworks night. That money can go to good use helping people through the winter.
I do, however, like OHD and other town sponsored events. It gives people a chance slow down and get out and mingle with people from their community so they can get to know one another. Some people don't take the time to get to know their neighbors which is really a shame."
And finally, my all time favorite is from Haverhill. They're going absolutely nuts down there with their comments on using the Merrimack River as a water supply.
