For me:

o Sleeping/unconscious - meh

o Awake & aware, but paralyzed - can be an interesting change of pace.

o Awake-submissive - the most practical, works better for me with a "victim" who is looking forward to it, rather than a "typical" DiD.

o Awake and required to bind herself (or at least start the process) - another interesting one, at least as a change of pace.

o Awake and struggling - can be hot, if the practicalities don't get in the way. (Can be combined with "awake but paralyzed" - the gimmick used doesn't cause complete paralysis, but only weakens her, so that her struggles are sincere but easily overcome.)
