I can't speak for the community at large, but I know that I was always very introverted WHEN IT CAME TO MY BONDAGE FETISH. I could be comfortable among friends but I was very unlikely to talk about my desire to see pretty ladies tied up. I mean, being into porn was one thing, that was kind of accepted, but being into tying other people up? Quite different.

With that said as you get older you care less and less about other people's opinions, so now I'm perfectly alright walking down the street with a lady on a leash.
