: We have some crazies among us, for sure.  But the U.S. is an awesome country--wild, strange and free.  I like to travel out west in all that "empty" territory.  To me, it is full of beauty, life, and history.  I don't think of it as "desolation", which is where I would disagree with Lee on West Texas in this article, unless he is just speaking about the low population.  But I think that he loves this country, too, and that feeling comes through in the article.
