: : ....ah! That's where I'm going wrong! The OH is still heavily dependant on me getting his meals and running round after him, plus the kids (one returned to the nest, the other occasionally appears with 'washing'), plus writing, plus working.........

: yes once the kids are older and out of the nest (especially out of town) then it all becomes much simpler..even the SO isnt a live-in so care and feeding is MUCH easier too! LOL
