While browsing the shelves in one of the libraries where I work, I ran across a scholarly article written by William Laskowski about Lee Child in a reference book, Critical Survey of Mystery and Detective Fiction, Rev.Ed., Vol. 1, Salem Press, 2008. How's that for snob appeal! An interesting article in itself, but even more interesting to me was a Wall Street Journal article entitled "Odd Twist for Hero of Popular Thrillers: Women Like Him, Too" by Jeffrey Trachtenberg (June 10, 2006) referenced in that article. Two ladies named Rae and Deanie were quoted...hmmm, I wonder...
I imagine most of you who were on this forum at that time knew about this article, but relative newbies like me may want to read it. In case you don't happen to have stacks of old Wall Street Journals lying around, you should be able to access the article through the newspaper databases available from any library where you have borrowing privileges, at least in the U.S. And nowadays, you can often access the databases from home.
