...my first time to post here.
I have been to the Painted Desert National Park in Arizona....but by all means the Big Bend, Texas area beats it by how radically the terrain, flora and geology change just within miles of each other and in many cases a just few hundred yards.
The colors in this image are as is....I did use a AlienBees Ringflash to the model's left to get rid of the shadows from shooting in the mid afternoon blazing sun.
Just an incrediably beautiful place...was a blast just walking through the area...desert.
Millipedes...a few hairy spiders...as big as my hand...wierd looking bugs...big jack rabbits...and lots of snake holes...
Seemed like just about every plant had some kind of stickers....pretty harsh!
The intense blue sky with the fluffy white clouds made it seem like a surreal painting each day.
I also found some pretty cool structures (with some 'local' input/help)....the human made kind to shoot at/in.
