I used watered down acrylic paints for this--you can get airbrush paint, Mac cosmetics or Ben Nye, but acrylic works just as well and it's cheaper! It washes off easily and the only drawback is that it has a tendency to stick, so if your models happen to be in a "huggy" mood before a show, the paint will peel off.
