As I had for the las three months I was up getting ready to deliver a friends paper route which also entails letting out at least one of the dogs. I had not thought about it as I had not heard anything yet as I get to the car then turn on the radio as to not wake any one up I did not think at the time anything unusual.

When I started the car I heard callers talking at 4:45 am when it is usually the headline review and past events of the day. then they mentioned the earthquake.

Well, normally, when I let in the younger dog I have to go out on the porch to see where he was and call him. This time though, he had been waiting at the door, looking in a bit of a strange way.

Now we know why!!
