I've shot in bars where it's very difficult to get anything using available. Lots of times, I'll shoot with a normal or 85mm lens wide open (f 1.8 or 1.4) just to get a little more light on the subject and crop if need be. The shot of BB was at 1/180 @ f/2.8 with a 180mm lens, ISO 800. It's cropped out of a horizontal frame. Still holds up at around 11x14. Sometimes, panning with the action can create some interesting shots when the light is low. I'll also slow synch sometimes for special effects in bars. The results vary too much to do a whole show that way.
